My studio and vintage Vandercook No. 4.

I'm a printmaker, photographer, graphic designer, and bookmaker living in western Wisconsin, seventy-five miles southeast of the Twin Cities. I moved from Minneapolis to this rural area, near Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River, twenty-five years ago. Since then, I have focused on creating art that reflects my interest in protecting and restoring the environment in the Upper Mississippi valley. I work in a variety of printmaking mediums including polymer photogravure, wood engraving, letterpress printing and mixed media. Some of this work is collaborative. I also design, print, and bind fine, letterpress books. Recent commissions include two chapbooks of poetry: Traveling Light by Robert Hedin with illustrations by Art Kenyon; and White Sky by Carter Smith. I handset and printed a broadside of poetry on commission in 2019 titled, “Quilt Label” for the 2022 poet laureate of Minnesota, Gwen Westerman.
